Aspiring Sydney artist Sarah Fordham has long been inspired by the places she has lived in and travelled to and her imagery is often stimulated by the journals she has kept over the years.
“Everything I see and hear is recorded in my diaries, which provide great fodder for future artworks”, the artist says.
Born in San Francisco, Fordham has travelled extensively, spending lengthy periods in Europe and the United States. Following her first solo show in 2000, she spent several months painting in New York, which has inspired much of her work ever since. Sarah has had five solo exhibitions in the past seven years.
Sarah completed a Bachelor of Art Education in 1996 at the College of Fine Arts UNSW, and is currently taking leave from teaching art at North Sydney's prestigious Monte Sant' Angelo College to paint full time in her studio situated in the inspiring Yarramalong Valley.
