Meredith Gaston’s seemingly naïve figurative paintings show refreshing bold colours and simplicity of form. Meredith works primarily in acrylic on canvas with an emphasis on telling stories, travelling and imagining with recurring themes of unusual animals, landscapes and human relationships.
She lives in a rambling old house in Sydney with chickens and frequently documents its inhabitants and stories in her drawings and paintings. The artist’s particular passions are dinosaurs, birds, faces, kites and mountains and her travels in Italy and France are important creative references.
